Sitters
Can't find anyone for this shift?
Post it instead. Your favorites get it first and have 12 hours to claim it, then it opens to every verified sitter in your area.
What we check before a sitter can take a booking
Enrollment or licence
Students show a current transcript or registrar letter, re-checked each term. Licensed clinicians show a current, unrestricted licence, verified with the state board.
Background
County, state, and national criminal search, plus the sex offender registry. Re-run every year.
CPR and first aid
An unexpired BLS card. Sitters who list PALS upload that too, and the card expiry shows on their profile.
Identity
Before anyone takes a booking they upload a government photo ID — a driver's licence, state ID, or passport. A person on our team compares the face on it with the photo on their profile and the name on it with the name on the application, and the background check is run against the identity on that document rather than a name someone typed in. The image is deleted the moment it's been checked; what we keep is the document type, the issuing state, the expiry date, and the fact that it matched. We never ask for the number.
Photo
Every sitter uploads a current photo of their face, checked by our team before it goes live. A new photo on an already-approved profile is reviewed again rather than published straight away. When someone knocks on your door, you should already know what they look like.

What a sitter can and can't do
Some of our sitters are licensed clinicians and some are students, but here they are all babysitters. They can follow a care plan you write down — the inhaler before bed, the 8pm dose, the feeding schedule, when to call you and when to call 911. Nobody diagnoses, prescribes, or changes a plan on their own, licence or not.
